Building an eBook using ZooBurst

After testing out this eBook tool, I have come up with a list of “Likes” and “Dislikes.”
- Teachers can set-up a class account that will allow students to create their own story book.
-T here is an app available for building eBooks, using ZooBurst, on an iPad or tablet.
- The basic service is free, but this account is very limited on the number of features that can be used and the number of pages.
- Users have control over who is allowed to view their work.
- Students are able to upload pictures and use them in their stories, but they must upgrade their account.
- Users are able to embed code into their websites so that they can publish their books so they can be viewed/read by teachers, peers and parents.
- Limited number of tools makes it easy for students to learn how to use the tools to quickly create their own eBook.
- Students are able to search for images to use in their stories.
- Students are able to resize images and move them to different locations on the page.
- Code for the finished product can easily be embedded into an individual or class website or blog.
- Characters “Pop-Up” sequentially after the page has been turned.
- Encourages creative thinking through the marriage of visuals and text
- Recommended for grade 2-12 students.
- Teachers can assign usernames and passwords to their students without having to input any sensitive or personal information, and can manage and moderate student work in a protected environment.
- Provides special "Story Codes" (bar codes that can be scanned by a smartphone) which can be posted on physical objects like a classroom bulletin board or parent newsletter.

Dislikes- Subscription accounts are $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year.
- Users are unable to unlock class media or drawing tools unless their account is upgraded.
- Limited number of images to use with basic account.
- The resolution of the images is low.
- Limited number of pages (10) for the basic account.
- Educators need to be cautious of Privacy issues with subscription accounts as students are able to upload their own pictures and images and use them in their eBook (check privacy settings)
- With a Premium user have access to book building features, such as audio & speech integration, downloadable books and an unlimited book library
